Our firm had the privilege to collaborate on an exceptional private residence featured in the July 2024 edition of Architectural Digest. Teaming up with acclaimed DJ and music producer Diplo, we undertook the challenge of crafting a bold, structurally expressive design nestled in the verdant hills of Portland, Jamaica. This indoor-outdoor masterpiece spans multiple levels, utilizing concrete both as a structural element and a defining aesthetic finish.
The design posed unique challenges with its expansive cantilevers, open spaces, and challenging terrain, resulting in a striking architectural statement. Extensive exploration of concrete's capabilities enabled us to innovate non-standard load paths, facilitating the creation of expansive spaces and daring overhangs throughout the property.
Further enhancing the complexity, the private studio located at lower elevations presented a similarly intricate structural puzzle. Noteworthy features include expansive cantilevers and long concrete link bridges that seamlessly connect various spaces across the property.
In summary, this project stands as a testament to our expertise in pushing the boundaries of structural design, creating spaces that are both functional and visually arresting in their architectural expression.
